West Virginia v. EPA — a critically important case about to be decided by
the Supreme Court — could drastically weaken the EPA's ability to rein in
pollution from the fossil fuel industry. We need your help before midnight

Dear NRDC Activist,

Distressing news that the Supreme Court appears to be preparing to
overturn Roe v. Wade spread far and wide last week. But this ideologically
conservative Court isn't done yet: another high-profile case sits in their
laps, and it could upend environmental laws for years to come.

In just a few weeks, the Supreme Court could rule on West Virginia v. EPA
— a high-profile case that could gut the Clean Air Act and weaken the
EPA's ability to stop corporate polluters from pillaging our climate, air
and water for profit and change environmental laws in our country forever.

No matter how the Supreme Court rules in this high-stakes case, NRDC will
be prepared to fight back with every tool at our disposal, in and out of
court. We're in this fight for the long haul.

But we can't do it without you. [ [link removed] ]We need 1,000 donors before midnight
tonight to help us prepare for the legal fights ahead. And because this is
such a critical moment, we're TRIPLE MATCHING your first
gift up to $80,000.

How did we end up here? Well, anti-environment politicians have worked for
decades to infiltrate government institutions and implement their big
polluter agenda. West Virginia v. EPA is their latest — and potentially
very dangerous — attempt to make that dream come true.

The scary thing is that it just might work. They've stacked the Supreme
Court with a supermajority of ideological justices who we fear may be
willing to put the interests of corporate polluters above the damage
climate change is doing to our planet's ability to support future
generations. And right now, they have the final say in whether the EPA can
continue to do its job.

And polluters won't stop there. If they win this case, they'll likely go
after the authority of important government agencies to enforce other
bedrock environment and health protections.

That's why we need your help. NRDC will be ready to fight no matter how
the Supreme Court rules to stop the coal industry and other corporate
polluters.

[ [link removed] ]Will you make a tax-deductible gift of $5
right now to help us prepare for the battles
that lie ahead? Your gift before our midnight deadline will be matched 3X
up to $80,000!

We need 1,000 donors by midnight tonight to help power our work to:

* Use the power of the federal courts to push for — and defend — climate
and clean energy policies of the EPA and other key federal agencies.
* Expand our efforts to push for federal actions necessary to begin
cutting climate pollution by 50% by 2030.
* Build widespread public support behind regulatory actions to cut
pollution from cars, trucks and power plants — the top sources of
deadly, climate-destroying emissions in America.
* Put pressure on the Biden administration to crack down on dangerous,
climate-busting oil and gas drilling along our coasts.
* Work with NRDC's state and regional organizers to expand our push for
innovative clean energy policies and climate action locally, in key
cities and states across the country.

No matter what happens in West Virginia v. EPA, we won't let polluters win
that easily. But we need your support, and we're matching your donation
before midnight 3X, up to $80,000, to make it go as far as possible.

As we await this high-stakes decision, [ [link removed] ]can we count on
your gift of $5 to keep us
in this fight?

Sincerely,
[4]Mitch
