The fantastic season of open air theatre performances returns this summer to the manicured gardens and beautiful ruins of Newstead Abbey, and the spectacular Elizabethan mansion and park at Wollaton.
The first performance of the year is David Walliams' Awful Auntie (Sat 11 June) at Newstead Abbey, adapted for the outdoor stage by Heartbreak Productions. It's a truly thrilling tale of owls, ghosts, chases, escapes, motorcycle rides, and umm...tiddlywinks as Stella evades her menacing Aunt and saves the family home.

Newstead Abbey is offering a mix of children's tales, Shakespeare classics, alongside popular novels to delight all ages this summer.
The season starts on Sat 11 June with modern classic Awful Auntie, then moves to a more traditional tale on Wednesday 29 June with Pride & Prejudice.
Enjoy Shakespeare's Twelfth Night on Weds 27 July and a tale with a twist in Much Ado About Murder on Fri 12 August.
There are two further classic tales with Jane Eyre on Fri 26 August and Peter Pan on Sun 04 September.

The Wollaton season begins with a delve into history on Thurs 16 June as The Gunpowder Plot promises an explosive evening of short fuses and tall tales, as five actors try to pull off the most infamous conspiracy in history.
There are two Shakespeare performances - Romeo & Juliet on Tues 19 July, and A Midsummer Nightâs Dream on Thurs 01 September: Â
On Sunday 17 July, the kids will enjoy the popular David Walliams' story - Awful Auntie, and there is the fairy-tale magic of Cinderella on Weds 03 August.

The Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 Queenâs Baton Relay is confirmed to visit Nottingham during its final journey this summer.
The baton will travel the length and breadth of England for 29 days, before reaching the games' opening ceremony on 28 July.
During its time in Nottinghamshire, the Queenâs Baton Relay will visit Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, and experience a kayak journey along the Nottingham and Beeston Canal, before travelling through the famous network of caves to Nottingham Castle.
More details on how to see the Baton will be released in due course.
