At the halfway point of 2022, legislators -- particularly in gerrymandered states -- have already introduced more than 250 bills in an effort to silence voters and keep extreme politicians safe from real accountability.

In the 2020 elections, the people made it clear: they want leaders to create a political system that is fair for everyone. But the mandate to restore our democracy is being met with obstruction by hyper-partisan politicians who would rather protect their power at the expense of the people.

Conservatives continue to take advantage of a weakened Voting Rights Act by unleashing a wave of voter suppression laws, conjuring up new efforts in an attempt to undermine our democracy, restrict voting rights, and manipulate our maps.

As David Daley said, gerrymandering threatens the foundations of representative democracy -- letting it go unchecked is how free and fair elections crumble before our eyes.
