This week, political experts across Maine confirmed what we’ve known for months: Our congressional district is one of the most competitive in the country -- and could have an outsized impact on the 2020 elections.

Not only could ME-02 determine which party holds a majority in the House, but it could ultimately decide who wins the presidential election.

What that means for our race: Quite literally, every single vote matters. We defeated a special interest-backed opponent by just 1% last year. Since our district is one of the most rural in the country -- and covers approximately 80% of Maine -- it’s going to take significant resources to mobilize folks in all of our 11 counties.

What that means for our country: Unlike most other congressional districts, our swing district allocates its own electoral vote. So, the hard work we put in now will have larger implications on how many electoral votes each presidential nominee wins. If we can win this toss-up race and send Jared back to Congress to fight for Maine families, our votes could help elect other Democrats up and down the ballot.

There’s too much on the line -- both for our ultra-competitive district and our country -- to sit this election out. John, we need all the help we can get from grassroots supporters like you to turn out voters all across Maine’s second district.
