A shocking set of new emails obtained by the congressional committee
investigating the January 6 insurrection shows a top lawyer for Donald
Trump urged Republican state lawmakers in Pennsylvania to "retabulate the
state's popular vote—and throw out tens of thousands of absentee
ballots—in order to show Donald Trump with a lead."^1
After pressuring Republican lawmakers to throw out mail-in ballots,
Trump's lawyer writes: "Having done that math, you'd be left with a
significant Trump lead that would bolster the argument for the Legislature
adopting a slate of Trump electors."^2
This is a smoking gun. An outright, naked authoritarian attempt to throw
out tens of thousands of votes and install Trump to a second term.
Trump's coup attempt in 2020 didn't work. But Trump isn't giving up.
As you read this, Trump is enacting a plot to install his lackeys to key
offices across the country that oversee the counting of ballots and will
be responsible for certifying the results of the 2024 presidential
election.^3

positions and elect people who will protect our rights and count every
vote.

Steve Bannon said it outright: "We're taking over all the elections."^4
Their plan is to take over the machinery of our democracy from the ground
up by electing Trump loyalists as the top election officials in
battleground states in this fall's midterms—so that in the 2024
presidential election, only Trump loyalists will be certifying elections
in the states that will decide who wins.
The MAGA Republican Party is attempting to strip voting rights from voters
of color and plunge our nation into the depths of authoritarianism. We
cannot let them get away with it.

23-year history, to invest millions in state races for secretary of state,
in an effort to defeat Trump's chosen candidates.
