This is not going to be one of those emails where I compare our fundraising deadline this week to an actual crisis.

Yes, I have an extremist right-wing opponent who is sure to be one of Trump’s top allies in Congress gunning for my seat, and yes, she has the backing of some of the GOP’s biggest donors.

(And yes, I’m going to ask you to make a donation before midnight because my team needs to bring in $15,000 by the end of the month so we can have the resources to stay ahead.)

But that’s not an actual crisis -- It’s our country that is in a moment of crisis.

A constitutional crisis where Republicans refuse to hold the President accountable as he dismantles the values, norms, and institutions our country was founded upon.

A climate crisis, the greatest existential threat to not just our country, but to humanity as a whole. And our window to act is closing -- Fast.

A crisis of conscience where millions of Americans are struggling to hold onto their health care, save up for retirement, make ends meet, and pay off their student loans.

A crisis of personal freedoms where Trump and Republican lawmakers are trying to roll back a woman’s constitutional right to choose and protections for LGBTQ+ Americans.

I am personally asking you to make a donation today so we can hold Trump accountable, tackle climate change, expand access to health care, and defend the very freedoms and protections that millions rely on →

We don’t need even more far-right extremism in Congress -- We need leaders who will let facts, evidence, and reason guide them.
