And just like that, May is here, which means our primary election is just a few days away. I’ve had the honor of spending the last few weeks connecting with voters in person, speaking about the issues at stake in Pennsylvania. Talking to you and hearing from you makes all of the work we put in every day worth it. Thank you for being on our team. With that, here’s what my office and I have been working on the last month:

STATE OF THE 6TH DISTRICT
Last month, we held our third annual State of the 6th Town Hall at the Colonial Theatre. I was overjoyed to see hundreds of you in person as we discussed the tremendous progress we’ve made for Chester and Berks counties. Although there certainly is work to be done, I’m happy to say the state of the 6th Congressional District of Pennsylvania is good. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished together. In case you missed it, read all about our town hall here.

OPPOSING RUSSIA’S AGGRESSION IN UKRAINE
The war in Ukraine has gone on too long. It doesn’t have to be this way. Ukraine desperately needs tools to defend themselves – tools we have here in the United States. So I asked Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III for answers on why we’re not taking more action. Other Congressmembers and I have been banned from entering the country of Russia simply for speaking out. But that means we’re doing something right. We have to keep supporting Ukraine so this war can finally end and Ukrainians can live in peace.

ADDRESSING SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES
Our nation is grappling with supply chain issues including the shortage of semiconductor chips. These powerful chips are critical to our everyday routines, as they can be found in things like mobile phones, refrigerators, and vehicles, which is why I am proud to announce I voted to pass the Protecting Semiconductor Supply Chain Materials from Authoritarians Act. This bipartisan bill will protect the supply chains of chips and lower the costs of a huge number of goods, including cars and electronics. With costs rising, we need to combat inflation and make sure hardworking Pennsylvanians can thrive – this legislation will help do exactly that. Moreover, I am working on the Conference Committee for the COMPETES Act, which will be a massive step to shoring up our supply chains.

OUR LATEST ENDORSEMENTS
I’m honored to announce that hardworking, issue-oriented organizations like Giffords and EMILY's List have endorsed our reelection campaign. Take a look at some of the other incredible groups in our corner: National Organization for Women Jewish Democratic Council of America Emgage PAC Greater Reading PAC MOMs Demand Action Candidate of Distinction From protecting a woman’s right to choose to defending democracy and ending gun violence in America, these progressive organizations are doing critical work to address our nation’s most urgent issues – and I’m so proud to earn their support.

Thank you for taking the time to read our May newsletter. The incredible progress we’re making for our district isn’t possible with the support of people like you, so thank you. I’d love to hear from you, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. Keep an eye out for our June newsletter! There is work to be done, Chrissy. This is important, so we have to ask. With the Primary Election just days away and Chrissy’s GOP opponents self-funding their way to victory in 2022, we need all the help we can get to keep this seat – and the House blue. So, we’re asking: Will you take a moment to chip in $5, or whatever you can, to help Chrissy defend her seat and continue making progress for PA-06?
