Draconian anti-choice bills are being pushed around the country – and the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade. I’m worried, like many doctors, advocates, and Michiganders, that the clock on reproductive rights will be turned back 50 years.
Michigan will revert to a dangerous abortion ban overnight if Roe is overturned. In other words, the stakes couldn’t be higher. A future in which we lose the right to a safe and legal abortion is very real.
That’s why I filed a lawsuit and asked the Michigan Supreme Court to ensure Michigan’s arcane abortion ban never goes into effect, and Gov. Janet Mills in Maine is fighting to protect choice, even if the United States Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade.
And while we’re both standing strong to protect reproductive rights, anti-choice radicals and their special interest backers are prepared to pour millions of dollars into attack ads in Maine and Michigan.
