Hi John, #AffordableHousingMonth is in full swing, and our members and partners have been creating excitement and energy around our regional events (in-person and online!) and our collective pro-housing, pro-people, pro-community messages! Stay Engaged! Check out these new Affordable Housing Month activities coming up soon: - Housing, Race, & Homelessness: Ending Poverty in the Bay Area, Monday, May 23 from 11:00AM – 12:30PM PT
NPH co-hosts with the Commonwealth Club to dive deep into the concrete ways we can end poverty in the Bay Area. Listen to former Mayor of Stockton and Founder of End Poverty in California Michael Tubbs and All Home CEO Tomiquia Moss as they explore how housing instability is interconnected with racial inequality, poverty, and homelessness and outline his five-point platform for ending poverty in California. We’ll also hear from a panel of broad cross-sector partners on how to move principles and concepts to action items and concrete next steps, including: Cathy Eberhardt, Vice-Chair, Oakland Mayor’s Commission on Persons with Disability; Melissa Jones, Executive Director, Bay Area Regional Health Inequities Initiative; and Courtney Welch, Emeryville City Councilmember. |
