The Supreme Court: Final Arbiter in Our Government?

On May 2nd, 2022, a Supreme Court draft opinion was leaked to the media that suggested the justices would likely overturn the Roe v. Wade (1973) opinion. The prospect of a change in precedent concerning abortion in the United States has led to questions and debates over who should be the one deciding the constitutionality of laws. What should the role of the Supreme Court be in establishing what is constitutional and unconstitutional? What benefits and challenges does this arrangement present? And what is the Court's relationship with other branches, state governments, and the American people?
