Cornyn: Schumer’s Radical Abortion-on-Demand Bill Still Has Bipartisan Opposition - Democrat lawmakers' bill to codify the right to abortion-on-demand failed to pass the Senate today on a 49-51 vote. All Republican Senators and Democratic Senator Joe Manchin voted against the bill. Senator John Cornyn shares remarks about the radical legislation on the House floor.

Explainer: Options for Evacuated Afghans - In the aftermath of the U.S. troop withdrawal and the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban in August 2021, more than 76,000 evacuees were transferred into the U.S., initially brought to military bases for medical screening and processing and then resettled into communities across the country. More than 70,000 (over 94%) of those resettled in the U.S. thus far have been processed under humanitarian parole. Parole offers only limited, temporary benefits and — unlike refugees and Special Immigrant Visas — no clear path to permanent status. This article compares the various pathways currently available for Afghan evacuees to stay in the U.S., explains the costly limitations and processes that result from a lack of viable pathways to permanent status, and discusses why adjustment legislation remains necessary and urgent.

Ted Cruz: The Biden Administration's Antagonism towards Oil and Gas is Hurting Texans - When Biden took the oath of office, the average retail price of gasoline was $2.38 a gallon. On Monday, according to AAA, it was $4.32. In some parts of the country, we’ve seen gas prices reach as high as $6.90 a gallon. This is the result of the Green New Deal zealots in the Biden administration and their desire to put an end to oil and gas. The Biden administration’s assault on oil and gas production began during his campaign when he pledged during the debates: “No more drilling on federal lands. No more drilling, including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill. Period," and he kept his promise.
