If you have a postal vote you should receive your ballot paper today or in the next few days.

Here are three good reasons why I believe you should vote for me. 

1. I will continue to work hard for everyone in Broxtowe as I have done for the last 9 years as your MP.
    
2. I will continue to stand up to the abuse and threats from the extremists who are poisoning our politics, further dividing our country and destroying British values of tolerance and compassion. 
    
3. I have the support of people of all political persuasions who recognise the work I have done as your MP and the need to have strong, principled and  moderate politicians in Parliament. I will continue to represent all my constituents and be your voice in Parliament. 

We are living in extraordinary times - and arguably the most divided and troubling times in living memory.

And this is an extraordinary election; yesterday the Chief Rabbi urged people not to vote Labour because of the anti-semitism in the Labour Party which Jeremy Corbyn has failed to eradicate. The Conservative peer Michael Heseltine also urged voters not to vote Conservative.

Jeremy Corbyn’s refusal to apologise to the Jewish community (you can watch his interview with Andrew Neil here), his unfunded and cynical policies to buy votes, his pitiful leadership, especially on Brexit, has driven moderate Labour voters to despair.
Labour’s candidate in Broxtowe welcomed Jeremy Corbyn to Beeston on Monday afternoon - he is one of his biggest supporters and a member of the old hard left that has driven out so many moderate, decent Labour MPs and members.

One former member spoke to me on Monday about Labour’s tax plans which will hit even the lowest paid with, for example, the removal of the married persons tax allowance. But the most important reason she left Labour was due to the anti-semitism and extremism. 

Boris Johnson is also unfit to be our Prime Minister and cannot be trusted. His own Ministers now agree this election will not “get Brexit done”. It is another meaningless slogan because we either face more years of trade negotiations or a calamitous no-deal Brexit this time next year. It didn't take long for Piers Morgan and many others to expose the fake promise of 50,000 more nurses (you can see part of Piers Morgan's interview with a Government Minister here). Promises of 20,000 more police officers and a new QMC are just as dishonest and misleading. Today, Department of Health officials have confirmed what Nottingham University Hospital Trust told me, they have only “seed funding” to develop plans for a new hospital which may be built in 10 years time. 
Johnson’s candidate in Broxtowe will always do his bidding even backing a no-deal brexit. 

With neither leader fit to be PM and both parties in the grip of the extremists, we need more than ever MPs from the progressive, centre ground in Parliament.
I believe this is why, in every part of Broxtowe, people of all political persuasions are pledging their support for me and I am honoured and grateful.
