Dear John,

Thank you for doing your part to fight gun violence in America. I wanted
to send you a few gun sense discussion starters before the holidays, since
gun violence and gun safety are on a lot of our minds. If you are
celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and family who are unaware of how
pervasive gun violence is in America, these stats could help you start the
conversation.

15 - The average number of minutes between gun deaths in the United
States.

2nd - Guns are the 2nd leading cause of death for children under 18.

Nearly 1 million - The number of women in the United States who have
reported being shot or shot at by an intimate partner.

610,000 - The number of gun deaths in the United States between 1999 and
2017.

the United States.
