Team,
I wanted to write to you today about something that isn’t on cable news. Fair warning – if you live in a big city, when you hear this, you might just choke on your oat juice. Here it is: Rural America is just as important as any big city folk. In fact, Rural America is critical to defeating this new “wackadoodle” wave of extremist legislators taking over our democracy. Rural America matters.
But before I get started, if you don’t have time to read this entire email, would you consider chipping in $5 to help me defeat a Trump-endorsed wackadoodle with deep pockets full of dark money?

To some of us, especially those of us who live in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, Rural America is more important than anywhere else. I know this because I was raised right here, in rural Wisconsin on a dairy farm.
I met my wife here. That’s where we’ve raised our kids and it’s where my family has been dairy farming since they came to this country in the 1800’s. Rural America isn’t fancy. Milking cows is probably the least fancy thing you could ever choose to do (unless you’re trying to clean out a chicken coop or pigsty). But you learn a thing or two about values growing up on a farm, because no matter how good or bad or just plain messy your day is, you still need to get up and milk the cows. Life on a farm takes dedication, resiliency, and being okay with getting your hands dirty.
You can’t talk about problems on farms because they’ll keep getting worse while you’re sitting around talking about them. You have to actually go out and fix them. Talking doesn’t solve anything on a farm – action does. It should be the same way in Washington. I’m not going to waste time talking about problems as a way of solving them. I’m going to pass legislation and get things done. Hard work is what fixes things, and I’m ready to work hard for you in Washington.
Rural America to me is about hard work, dedication, and resiliency. That’s what patriotism is to me, too. Rural Wisconsin is my home and I will fight for it in Washington. I’m asking you today: will you join our team and fight on behalf of rural Americans? We all deserve to be represented in our federal government – that’s what democracy is all about. I’m ready to bring the voice of Rural America to the table.
