Mental Health Awareness Week:?9 - 15 May

This years theme is loneliness. Feeling lonely is something anyone can experience at some point, making us feel isolated and has a general impact on our wellbeing.?

There are lots of things you can do to help lift someone out of loneliness.?

Physical activity is one of the best ways to help boost your mood. Whether you go for a walk, car-share to the gym or join in with a group exercise class can get you around other people and give you something to do.?This week, think about inviting someone to workout with you.?

Active Nottingham named as triple-finalists at the ukactive Awards 2022

We are delighted to have been named by ukactive as 2022 Award Finalists after entering the awards for the first time having been shortlisted in the following categories:

  • Regional Club of the Year (Harvey Hadden Sports Village)
  • Activation Award (recognising organisations who run events to inspire and encourage people to be more active)
  • Physical Activity Hero Award (Charmaine Daley with This Girl Can)

Active Nottingham leisure centres awarded inclusive fitness initiative mark

Harvey Hadden Sports Village and Clifton Leisure Centre, have been awarded the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) Mark for their facilities, joining Ken Martin Leisure Centre in three of eight centres in the East Midlands and the only centres in Nottingham to have this accreditation.

Can we splash

Can We Splash??is a book about children's swimming and follows Mo, his sister Yas and the fun they had with their Dad on a swimming trip to a Nottingham leisure centre.

City Council Leader, Cllr David Mellen, will launch the book officially on 16 May 2022 by reading to a group of children from Melbury Primary School at Harvey Hadden Sports Village.

Can We Splash? will be available for collection, for free, from any Active Nottingham leisure centre from 16 May 2022.
