BREAKING (again): After a leaked draft decision from SCOTUS showed that the newly conservative court is ready to overturn Roe v. Wade , the Senate brought the Women’s Health and Protection Act (WHPA) to vote with hopes to save our bodily autonomy.
BAD NEWS – Republicans once again showed their true colors and EVERY Senate Republican voted NO to codifying the constitutional right to reproductive healthcare.
Despite 7 in 10 American voters expressing support for abortion care and Roe itself, leaders of the GOP convinced their members to go against their voters’ wishes, forcing their control over pregnant peoples' bodies and health care decisions.
But we can’t give in and we can’t give up because 26 states have set themselves up to ban abortion as soon as Roe is overturned, meaning more than 36 million Americans are going to see their human and constitutional rights taken away.
