Hi NRDC Activist —

If you didn't get a chance to read Julia Louis-Dreyfus's email below,
here's the gist:

If the Supreme Court rules against us in West Virginia v. EPA, it could
gut the EPA's ability to hold corporate polluters accountable for spewing
climate-busting pollution into our air. And our communities, our health,
and our climate will suffer — period.

No matter how this case ends, NRDC is committed to the fight for our
environment, in and out of court — and we REALLY need your help right now.

[ [link removed] ]I hope you'll be one of the 1,000 supporters we need to pitch in with a
gift of just $5 or more
before tomorrow's deadline. ALL Gifts
MATCHED 3X, up to $80,000!

Here's the bottom line: this case could have huge consequences for our
planet, and it's not a fight that any of us can afford to sit out.

Thanks for sticking with us.

Dear NRDC Activist,

I'm angry about last week's leaked news that the Supreme Court is poised
to gut Roe v. Wade and irrevocably restrict reproductive rights in the
United States. It's a stark reminder of the influence that decisions by
the highest court in the land can have on our lives.

While we await the Court's final decision on that, the Supreme Court is
also preparing to rule on another case that threatens our environment and
our fight against climate change.

In West Virginia vs. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), coal companies
are arguing for a world where they're free to contaminate our planet
without consequences ... where nothing stands in the way of their careless
pursuit of profit.

If the Supreme Court's conservative majority rules for the coal companies,
they could strip the EPA of its ability to stop corporate polluters from
pumping deadly, climate-wrecking emissions into our atmosphere. And it
could open the door to an onslaught of polluter-driven lawsuits to remove
other kinds of protections!

[ [link removed] ]It's vital for our friends at NRDC to be prepared to strike back,
tackle the climate crisis, and defend our environment from rampant
pollution — in and out of court. They need 1,000 donors to join them with
a gift so they're ready to fight. Just $5 makes an
impact!

[ [link removed] ]I'm already in — are you?

You and I both know that protecting our environment from corporate
polluters is the EPA's job. But for decades, the fossil fuel industry and
its allies have been scheming to stop them from regulating polluters.

Their Washington allies have stacked federal courts with ideological
judges and built up an anti-environment, anti-choice majority on the
Supreme Court.

And now their supporters are bringing cases like this one — West Virginia
v. EPA — to try to convince the Supreme Court to curtail the EPA's
authority to limit the carbon emissions driving climate change.

The climate crisis is worsening, and scientists say we are running out of
time to make the critical changes we need to head off its worst impacts.

If there's any group that can protect us from environmental threats, it's
the tough, smart, and hard-working team at NRDC. But they need our
support, today.

[ [link removed] ]Join me now and be one of the 1,000 supporters NRDC needs to help
prepare for the rough waters ahead. Your gift of just $5 or
more will immediately strengthen their
important work for the environment in and out of the courtroom, and power
their efforts through the months to come.

Despite everything, I truly believe we can fight for a future that's
healthy, green, and equitable for all of us, and get it. But it's going to
be one hell of a fight.

Thanks for being one of the people who's up for the
challenge.

Sincerely,
[4]Julia
