If the last two years have shown us anything, it’s that having strong leaders who fight for all of us matters. And the reality is, Gretchen Whitmer is fighting back against an extreme abortion ban becoming the law of the land in Michigan.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned, Michigan will revert to having one of the most radical laws in the country overnight. We would go from a pro-choice state to one that makes it a felony to perform an abortion – even in cases of incest or rape.

Gretchen has been clear that she will fight any effort to take choice away from Michiganders. She’s doing everything in her power as governor to fight like hell to protect safe, legal abortion in Michigan.

That’s why she filed a lawsuit and used her executive authority to urge the Michigan Supreme Court to immediately affirm the right to abortion and ensure Michigan’s arcane 1931 ban never goes back into effect.
