Diana Ortiz, President and CEO of Doorways, was joined by C. Marie Taylor, President and Principal Consultant of Equity Through Action. The session helped create an open dialogue for nonprofit leaders of color, their staff, boards, and funders to prioritize leader wellness. Diana and C. Marie provided some actionable strategies that nonprofit leaders could take away to address staffing, burnout, fatigue and other challenges, particularly during the pandemic. The Becoming More Askable workshop is a part of Arlington’s Askable Adult Campaign that prepares any adult who supports middle and high school-aged youth by helping them identify the tools, language and strategies that foster a safe space for youth to feel empowered to discuss issues important to them. Additionally, this workshop discusses feelings, emotions, and values, as well as explores participants’ personal beliefs around sensitive topics.
