Let me be clear: I will always fight for the right of every woman to make choices about her own body.

As a young prosecutor in Vermont, when abortion was illegal in my state, I refused to prosecute any local doctors providing safe abortions to women who needed them.

As the longest serving member of the Senate, I have spent decades supporting legislation that affirms a woman's right to choose.

Today, as an American and Vermonter, I am horrified that Roe v. Wade is even up for debate. Our fight to protect women and every pregnant person's access to health care must commence on every front.

As we fight to enshrine this constitutional right in the Senate, it's also important that we support the organizations doing crucial advocacy work.
