HOWARD JARVIS TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION PAC ENDORSES
MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER FOR GOVERNOR
Sacramento, April 20, 2022—The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association Political Action Committee today endorsed author and journalist Michael Shellenberger for governor of California.
“Michael Shellenberger recognizes that not only are taxes too high, but Californians are not getting a return on investment for their tax dollars,” said HJTA president Jon Coupal.
Shellenberger is the author of “San Fransicko: Why Progressives Ruin Cities,” in which he documents the failures of the homelessness policies supported by the current administration and argues for a statewide approach to the problem that provides appropriate mental health treatment and “shelter first, housing earned.”
He is also the author of “Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All,” challenging the policies that are increasing the cost of energy in California while lessening its reliability. Shellenberger has vowed to support policies that make energy and water abundant and affordable, and to build “a movement that realigns California’s politics around consensus and common sense.”
“He is a serious candidate for California’s very serious problems,” Coupal said.
