Last night there was big news out of San Francisco.

John,

This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for you.

My favorite part of this campaign has been meeting our supporters. The more people I connect with, the more confident I’ve grown in the intersectional movement that we’re building, and our ability to secure an electoral victory next November that will resound from coast-to-coast.

In the same way that privilege connotes responsibility, my gratitude reaffirms my commitments.

I’m committed to acknowledging the sovereignty of Native American peoples who preceded the United States. And I’m committed to standing in solidarity with them—and indigenous people around the world—to secure a just & sustainable future that includes cultural rights to self-determination, land, and resources.

I’m committed to working towards an America where all of us—including our least fortunate neighbors—have food, shelter, clean water & air, and a livable future. This is not nearly a reality yet, but I’m running for Congress to help get us there.

That’s why I’m so grateful for your support. As an immigrant to the U.S. who grew up in the rural Midwest and the South Side of Chicago, it is frankly inconceivable from some perspectives that I could be in a position to challenge the most powerful corporate politician in the country.

Yet we’re mounting the strongest challenge that Pelosi has ever confronted in her 30-year career. It’s because over 7,000 people around the country have invested in our campaign to replace Nancy Pelosi’s voice with one more committed to human rights and human beings.

Thank you so much for believing in me.

It humbles me, it inspires me, and it is why I’m in the position to help represent our movement, as we continue our campaign to represent our city in Washington.

I hope you get some time this weekend to relax, to recover, and to reconnect with your loved ones!
