That means not only voting to protect and expand our Senate majority, but also supporting strong pro-choice governors wherever we can. My governor, Tim Walz, has been a staunch supporter of protecting reproductive rights, but he faces a tough re-election campaign this year.

Every leading GOP candidate for governor in Minnesota has pledged to pass abortion bans without exceptions for victims of rape or incest. It’s an unconscionable and inhumane position to take, and we can’t let them win.

It’s especially concerning, because in our entire region, Minnesota will be one of the last lines of defense for people seeking abortion. If the Supreme Court overturns Roe, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North and South Dakota are all certain or likely to ban abortion either through “trigger laws” or through enacted laws passed before Roe.

Governor Walz, on the other hand, has pledged to veto an abortion ban if one is sent to his desk. I know Tim. I’m proud to support him. He stands for dignity, for health, for economic stability, for choice, and he will fight for you.
