As an activist and state legislator hailing from Southwestern Pennsylvania, Summer Lee has won sustainable jobs, environmental justice, police accountability, and more for her constituents.

In 2018, Sunrise endorsed her in her State House race and since then has been by her side as she defeated fracking legislation and demanded police accountability. She comes from a city that has been overrun by big polluting corporations, and knows firsthand why we need bold climate action, and what it takes movement power to win.

In Congress, she's ready to fight for a Green New Deal to transition to a 100% clean and renewable energy economy — including ending fracking, which poses a disproportionate threat to communities like hers.

Summer embodies our movement's vision. She has been in the streets with us, and we'll have her back. Together, we can send one of our own to Congress.
