Folks, so much is at stake in the midterms — take a look at what Mitch McConnell had to say after the Supreme Court draft opinion supporting the end of Roe v. Wade went public:
As shocking as this statement is, it’s also an understatement, unfortunately. We’ve already seen what Republican-controlled state legislatures have done and are actively doing: They are criminalizing all abortions without any exceptions for rape or incest. And they are already looking to restrict contraception. McConnell made this possible. He worked to block President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee and stacked the Court with radical, conservative justices during Trump’s presidency. Now, McConnell and his allies want to take back the Senate majority this fall and enact a nationwide abortion ban. And they won’t stop there — they will continue to attack our fundamental rights, from the right to privacy, to the right to contraception, to the right to marriage equality. We can’t let Republicans take back the Senate — or they will take this country back decades. Martin and our campaign are fighting hard to expand our Senate majority so we have the votes to codify Roe into law, and elect strong Democrats at the state level to defend our freedoms.
