Today we have a piece by Diana Park about one of those calls that you dread. She was sitting on her deck, enjoying the weather, when her phone rang: her daughter had been caught on camera, shoplifting a cheap ring.
“I was ashamed, embarrassed, and really mad at my daughter for doing something so stupid,” she writes. Then she remembered the dumb and reckless mistakes she made as a teenager. The whole process was gut-wrenching and emotional, but in the end, she was glad at how it played out.
