John -

Last week, a leaked draft opinion revealed that the Supreme Court could
strike down Roe v. Wade this June.

You might be asking yourself: What do reproductive rights have to do with
the climate crisis? Here's the situation:

Our movement for a healthy planet depends on democratic systems that
uphold justice. That includes environmental justice, racial justice,
economic justice – and yes – reproductive justice.

An emboldened Supreme Court that rules for the interests of the minority
is not a Supreme Court we can trust to protect the rights of all of us –
including the right to clean air, clean water, and a safe and stable
climate.

Now is the time for our climate movement to join together and demand that
our elected officials take action before the Supreme Court overturns Roe
v. Wade.

In partnership with Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Women’s
March, Ultraviolet, and MoveOn, we will mobilize this Saturday, May 14 and
let the world know we will not take this attack on our rights silently.

justice, John.
Will you sign up to march this Saturday, May 14 and fight back against
these attacks on our reproductive freedom?

If you’re like me, you were both saddened and livid hearing this news.

Let's be clear: those who want to see Roe v. Wade overturned know what a
precedent setting change this would be. The Supreme Court isn’t just
coming for abortion – they’re coming for the right to privacy and other
legal precedents that Roe rests on, which include gay marriage, civil
rights, and even the government’s ability to tackle the climate crisis.^1

That is why all movements need to come together in force this Saturday to
stand up and fight back. Now is the time to hold the Supreme Court, our
politicians, and the president accountable to protecting the rights of all
of us. The world is watching.

There has NEVER been a more crucial time for our movement to show up in
support of our collective rights. A democracy that stands up for those
rights is one that will also enable climate action.

So far, there are more than 200+ events planned nationwide in all 50
states with anchor actions in New York, Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles, and
Washington, D.C.

We must rise to the urgency of this moment and make it clear that we will
not stand by quietly as these justices attempt to control our bodies and
our futures.

[ [link removed] ]Please join this national moment by signing up to attend an action this
Saturday, May 14 to defend our reproductive freedom and access to
abortion.

Sending solidarity to you and your community in this difficult moment.
Please remember to take care of yourself and each other.

See you out there,
