** What is the purpose of the Leadership & Organizational Seasons Cohort and who is it for?
------------------------------------------------------------
The purpose of the Leadership and Organizational Seasons Cohort is to bring together new and experienced leaders and activists in social change who are looking to more profoundly understand the cyclical patterns that exist in our leadership and social movement organizations. Seasons and cycles help us to understand, appreciate and protect the ebbs and flows that occur throughout our time in this work.
At the Ayni School we have trained and coached leaders and activists from hundreds of different organizations and have noticed that most are unaware of the season their own individual leadership or their organizations are in. This creates strategic misalignment, missed opportunities, and can lead to burnout.
This is why we developed the Leadership and Organizational Seasons Course.
During the cohort, participants will join others and go through the content of the Leadership and Organizational Seasons Course together (explained more below) and engage in individual and group exercises on the course material, share reflections and ask questions, through weekly virtual calls that reinforce their practice.
Alongside our weekly cohort sessions we will provide office hours for those who enroll to receive support and ask questions on the course material.
We have tailored 4 evenings that are accessible for any schedule to come together with social change peers this June.

** What will I learn during the Leadership and Organizational Seasons Cohort?
------------------------------------------------------------
During the cohort, participants will learn the concepts and frameworks of our Leadership and Organizational Course, which consists of pre-recorded video lessons, in a group setting with other organizers and activists.
Participants will independently watch the video lesson of the Leadership and Organizational season course, one video lesson before each cohort session, and have weekly dialogues and lessons tailored to the strategies and challenges that arise when presented with integrating these concepts in their social change work and organizations.
As we’ve experienced in this work, there are times when we’re externally focused and there’s energy to do the work at hand. On the other hand, there are times when our energy is focused internally – where we seem dormant to the outside world.
We believe that each stage in this cycle has a purpose, gifts, and limits that can be applied to our lives, leadership, organizations, and movements. In this video lessons we dive into our leadership and organizational seasons specifically, and provide answers to some of the common questions that come up when we’ve previously shared the framework:
* What do Seasons look like in my leadership? What should I be doing and how can I get support?
* How can we integrate Seasonality into our work and lives? What are some next steps I can take?
* What should we do if I’m in one Season and my organization is in another?
This content of the Leadership and Organizational Seasons Cohort and is part of a larger set of concepts that are in our Social Movement Course, which is an 11 module self paced course.
Within the cohort, topics like Foundational Theories of Change or Movement Ecology are covered there and will not be covered in this cohort since we are focusing on Leadership and Organizational Seasons. We hope to provide cohorts for those other topics at a later time.
