Hi John,
One of our biggest priorities is combating cruel and punitive policies. Right now, we’re focused on the broad sanctions President Biden has kept in place.
Such broad-based sanctions have a widespread impact that disproportionately harm innocent civilians. Currently, these sanctions are punishing folks in Afghanistan, Cuba, Gaza, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, and Yemen, among others.
Recently, NIAC joined [[link removed]] other humanity-centered organizations in calling on President Biden to reform these excessively punitive sanctions.
But more action is needed to get our point across.
Join us on Tuesday, May 24th at 4 pm ET for Sanctioning Civilians: The Human Cost of U.S. Economic Warfare [[link removed]] . RSVP today to see American Friends Services Committee’s Daniel Jasper moderate a panel discussion between myself, Arash Azizzada from Afghans For A Better Tomorrow, Dr. Francisco Rodriguez from Oil for Venezuela, and Dr. Aisha Jumaan from Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation.
We must use our collective power and determination to reform these cruel policies. RSVP today [[link removed]] .
Looking forward to seeing you on May 24th.
