President Joe Biden had a chance to acknowledge this hardship in his speech yesterday.

He could have shown empathy to Americans who are having to decide between food on the table or gas in their cars and taken some responsibility for how his administration’s policies have contributed to rising prices. He could have presented a plan that did not include more inflationary spending.

But he did none of these things. What should Biden have said about fighting inflation?
