I don’t need to tell you that gas prices are high right now.

American families are feeling the squeeze of rising prices while Big Oil
companies report record profits. That’s why last week I introduced the
[ [link removed] ]Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act.

This bill would allow the President to issue an emergency provision
declaring it illegal to excessively increase gas and home energy prices.

With Shell reporting three times the quarterly profits they made a year
earlier and Exxon and Chevron announcing billions in stock buybacks, it’s
clear that Big Oil’s greed is costing each and every one of us when we
fill our tanks or pay our energy bills.

Big Oil is price gouging because they can. My bill will allow the
President to hold them accountable and lower gas prices.
