CVS Health CEO Karen Lynch responded to our question at their annual shareholder meeting this morning.

NNU - Medicare for All!

We did it.

We took our demands directly to CVS Health during their biggest day of the year and forced them to answer to our movement.

NNU President and RN Jean Ross attended the CVS Health annual shareholders meeting this morning to ask why they’ve spent millions to block Medicare for All by funding a dark money lobbying group, The Partnership for America's Health Care Future

CVS Health CEO Karen Lynch responded to Jean’s question, saying:

We have not contributed to the Partnership for America’s Health Care Future since 2020. And as a company we clearly believe that we should continue to build on an employer-based health care system as well as support Medicare and Medicaid, which millions of customers have relied on for decades.”

CVS says they are not currently funding the Partnership; yet they say they agree with everything the Partnership stands for. Our question to CVS remains: Which side are you on?

We need your help to amplify our demand. Please watch and share our video of Jean recapping what happened in the meeting and how we can take action.

Getting any answer from CVS is a victory for our movement, as it demonstrates that they are feeling the pressure. But we must be very clear: this response is wholly inadequate. If they truly do care about the communities they purport to serve, they will publicly and permanently cut ties with the Partnership.

We have real leverage to push CVS to pick a side. The truth is, they would not have felt the need to answer Jean’s question if we had not successfully put public pressure on them to do so.

We can’t let up the pressure now — and we won’t until CVS publicly cuts ties with the Partnership and commits to supporting what’s best for patients, not their bottom line.

Thank you for amplifying, and we’ll be in touch with next steps soon.
