Hi, John. It’s Deidre DeJear, the Democratic nominee for Governor here in Iowa.

As a woman's right to choose faces historic attacks nationwide, it’s crucial that we focus on electing Democrats up and down the ballot at the state level.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you today, John. I’m a Democrat running for Governor of Iowa and I need good people like you to help both me and my friend, J.D. Scholten, bring change to Iowa.

Iowa needs strong allies for women’s rights, education, and healthcare like J.D. Scholten, who will always stand up to those who would rather play politics to score points than lead this state for everyday Iowans.

Before I share more, I want you to know that while I will ALWAYS stand for a woman’s rights, my Republican opponent will not. So I need your help to defeat her this November, John. Will you split $22 between me and J.D.’s campaign to help us flip Iowa blue?

CHIP IN $22 NOW TO ELECT DEMOCRAT DEIDRE DeJEAR

If Roe v. Wade is officially overruled, Governors and their state legislatures will be responsible for controlling how much autonomy women have over their own bodies. It makes me truly sick to think about.

We should be focusing on better and more affordable child care, on improving maternal healthcare, on increasing hospital access for rural women, and expanding paid family leave — NOT taking away a woman’s right to choose when they are ready for motherhood.

Recently Iowa was ranked dead last for women’s access to OBs. We are losing OB doctors and nurses to other states, with less than 2 doctors for every 10,000 women in our state. 35 hospitals – mostly rural – have closed their delivery rooms. 

THIS is what my opponent Kim Reynolds SHOULD be focused on. Instead, she’s waiting for Roe v. Wade to be officially overruled so she can further chip away at women’s healthcare rights. 

Let me be clear: J.D. Scholten and I will work hard to give women access to safe and accessible reproductive care. I will fight for a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions. 

But I can’t get into office to protect a woman’s right to make their own decisions without your help. Will you split $22 to my campaign and J. D. Scholten and help us bring a blue wave to Iowa that will fight for women’s right to choose?
