In 2019, Cheri Beasley made history as the first Black woman to serve as a Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Now, Cheri’s looking to make history again as the first Black woman to be elected as a U.S. Senator from North Carolina.

With the Supreme Court expected to overturn Roe v. Wade in a matter of weeks, Democrats in Washington are currently fighting to protect access to reproductive care at the federal level — and we have a chance to help them. Cheri is running for North Carolina’s open Senate seat that’s just waiting to be flipped from red to blue.

Cheri is the right woman for this moment — as right-wing attacks on our fundamental rights increase, it’s critical that we elect leaders who will always stand up and fight for what is right. 

CNN has consistently ranked North Carolina’s Senate seat as one of the “most likely to flip” in November. But you and I both know our Senate races have been decided by razor-thin margins for years, so we can’t afford to take our foot off the gas. 

It’s going to take ample resources to elect Cheri, flip this seat, and expand our slim Senate majority — and she will need a strong grassroots team by her side every step of the way.
