CUs' Washington Watchdog brings priorities to key officials [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU, as the credit union industry's Washington Watchdog, is constantly working with lawmakers, administration officials, regulators, and other influencers to ensure credit unions' voices are heard at the highest levels of government. In the past two weeks, the association's award-winning advocacy team and Board of Directors met with key decision makers to discuss issues impacting the industry.

In light of continuous banker attacks and challenges to the credit union tax exemption, NAFCU Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler flipped the erroneous narrative and shared 10 reasons to be thankful for credit unions in an email to Capitol Hill.


4M cards stolen from restaurant breaches available on dark web [ [link removed] ]
A new report from KrebsOnSecurity reveals that four million credit and debit cards are available for sale on one of the largest cybercrime websites. The stolen card data comes from four different restaurants that have been compromised this year.






New-home sales maintain annual growth despite October decline [ [link removed] ]
New-home sales fell slightly in October to 733,000 annualized units from September's upwardly revised 738,000 units. Despite the dip, the month's sales were 31.6 percent higher than last year.


NAFCU closed Thursday, Friday for Thanksgiving [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU's offices will be closed tomorrow and Friday in observance of Thanksgiving, but members will still have access to the association's website for resources and upcoming events. NAFCU Today will resume publication Monday, Dec. 2.
