Later today, the Senate will hold a vote for the Women’s Health Protection
Act — which would codify abortion rights in response to news that the
Supreme Court plans on overturning Roe v. Wade in the coming weeks.
Despite the fact that over 70% of Americans support protecting Roe v.
Wade, this vote is most likely to fail. All because of the filibuster.
Politicians like Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul have made it clear that
they couldn't care less about our needs: they will continue using the
filibuster to block the Women’s Health Protection Act, voting protections,
climate action, and so much more. If we want to save abortion access in
our country, we must abolish the filibuster.

We can’t underestimate the urgency of this moment.
If action isn’t taken soon, abortion access will disappear all across the
country — including in Kentucky, where we are already fighting a law that
would effectively ban abortions in our State.

need to defend reproductive rights.

destructive filibuster that has blocked so many opportunities to protect
