Global Citizen,

 

Working to end extreme poverty and achieve the United Nations’ Global Goals is
no small feat. That is why the Global Citizen Prize identifies the “unsung
heroes” in local communities who have been championing and uplifting the most
vulnerable people. 

 

Eight remarkable changemakers

across three categories - to Defend the Planet, Defeat Poverty, and Demand
Equity - have been selected as winners for the Global Citizen Prize 2022, and
will join Global Citizen NOW, a two-day summit in New York on May 22 and 23.

 

Each of our winners is doing incredible work to make meaningful progress on

, the winner of the 2022 Cisco Youth Leadership Award.

The Cisco Youth Leadership Award celebrates a young individual who has
contributed meaningfully toward ending extreme poverty in their community.
Nidhi’s organization, S4S Technologies, uses solar technology to help
smallholder farmers minimize loss and improve their profits, and trains
landless women farmers to become micro-entrepreneurs by equipping them with the
right combination of technology, finance, and market access. 

 

The other inspiring Global Citizen Prize winners include Anuscheh
Amir-Khalili, Barbie Izquierdo, Brianna Fruean, Khanyisile Motsa, Mitzy Violeta
