If you’re anything like me, you can’t stop thinking about the midterms.

For a lot of people, though, a midterm election just plays second fiddle to the presidential—so it’s up to us to make sure that voters understand just how important this election is. Primaries across the country have already started, and this November will be crucial to protecting our democracy and our most fundamental freedoms.

We’ve seen the news: The Supreme Court is on the verge of ending national abortion rights in America by overturning Roe v. Wade. As many as 26 states could outlaw abortion, including 13 states that have already passed “trigger” laws that would take immediate effect when the decision is made final.

It’s all part of a concerted effort by Mitch McConnell and other powerful right-wing politicians to chip away at our basic freedoms. They’re not done yet—some conservative lawmakers have already started mobilizing around federal anti-abortion legislation, and they’re working to undermine the 2024 election by electing MAGA extremists who are willing to overturn the will of the people.
