Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) just endorsed current GOP frontrunner Scott Jensen ahead of the Republican State Convention this weekend.

We’re not surprised. Johnson and Jensen are two peas in a pod. Both have made headlines for pushing some of the most egregious anti-choice extremism, vaccine misinformation, lies about the 2020 election, and more. Let’s recap some of the greatest hits:

ABORTION RIGHTS

JENSEN: Said that he “would try to ban abortion” outright as governor.

JOHNSON: Said the Supreme Court’s draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade is the “correct one” and wants to go even further, supporting Republican efforts to push a national abortion ban.

VACCINE MISINFORMATION

JENSEN:  Signed onto a fringe lawsuit alleging that the COVID-19 vaccine is a “biological agent,” and faced multiple social media bans for spreading dangerous misinformation.

JOHNSON: Said it “may be true” that the COVID-19 vaccine causes AIDS and also faced a social media ban for spreading dangerous misinformation.

2020 ELECTION LIES

JENSEN: Refused to say Joe Biden “definitely won” the 2020 election, and says that he would push to send MN Secretary of State Steve Simon to jail, suggesting Simon should “see if [he] looks good in stripes.”

JOHNSON: Led the GOP effort in the Senate to push Donald Trump’s big lie, repeatedly called for investigations into the 2020 election, and baselessly claimed that “big Democrat strongholds [just] can’t seem to get their votes counted until they know exactly how many votes they need.”
