Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. It's also National Family Health History Day.

Knowing your family health history is important. As you gather with your family this holiday season, take the time to share and talk about health histories.

Most people who develop breast cancer have no family history of the disease. However, when a strong family history of breast and/or ovarian cancer is present, there may be reason to believe that a person has inherited an abnormal gene linked to higher breast cancer risk.

We know that researching your family history can be complicated. Breastcancer.org has information to help you learn about your family background ([link removed] , navigate family conversations ([link removed] , and understand
