Friend,
It's happening. The U.S. Supreme Court and Justice Alito are poised to reverse decades of precedent and set progress on women's health back 100 years. Iowa will be at the center of this fight and I want to be there to help lead that fight in the Iowa House of Representatives.
Help me take this battle to the floor of the Iowa House where I will stand up, speak up, and vote in support of a person's right to make their own choices about their reproductive health - including abortion. If you are with me, please donate $14 today as we approach our May 14th fundraising deadline.
As you know, I ran for the United States Senate. I didn't win that race, but I re-learned an important lesson. Sometimes you have to pick yourself up and get back to work. Throw your hat into the ring and keep pushing for change. That's why I'm running.
Now, below I've attached the email I sent in October of 2019 when the Court was preparing to take up the case they are poised to render a decision on. What I said then holds true today and will hold true in the future.
If you donate $14 and help me today, I assure you I will have your back and will stand up for women in House District 30 and across the State of Iowa. This election is the first step towards taking the Iowa Legislature back and you can be a part of it.
Thanks,
Eddie
P.S. - See my email from 2019 below. I don't just 'talk the talk'. I'll be there when the chips are down.

Hey--
Just last week, the Supreme Court announced they will soon hear a critical abortion case from Louisiana.
It's a complicated case, but it is effectively a backdoor tactic to impose even more restrictions on abortion services.
Now, I'm no doctor. But I am a firm believer that women have the right to govern their own bodies. The federal government has no business getting between a doctor and their patient.
Friend, if you agree, please add your name to our petition. Show the court that you're standing with women and opposing burdensome abortion restrictions.

GOP Senator Joni Ernst has always been an opponent of reproductive autonomy.
In her time in the Senate, Ernst has fought to limit access to women's healthcare. She voted to defund Planned Parenthood. She voted to confirm both Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch -- giving anti-choice justices a majority on the court.
Time and again, Ernst has put the interests of the far-right ahead of women and families.
I'm a proud supporter of Planned Parenthood. If elected to the Senate, I will vote to confirm judges who believe Roe v. Wade is settled law and who believe that women should be able to access high-quality, affordable reproductive health care without burdensome restrictions.
With Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch on the court and Mitch McConnell, and Joni Enrst in the Senate fighting to roll back Roe v. Wade, it is more important than ever for us to fight back and make a stand for women's rights. Sign the petition.
Thank you,
Eddie Mauro
