Trafalgar Poll: No, Not Even Democrats Are in Favor of Protests Outside of Homes of SCOTUS Justices
From the story: And this poll offers margins so wide and so non-partisan that it’s impossible to conclude anything but that Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer have positioned themselves in a box canyon over the reaction to the Supreme Court leak in Dobbs. Biden in particular refused to rebuke protesters that targeted the homes of Supreme Court justices, aligning himself with a view shared by a whopping 16% of the American electorate ( HotAir). Of Democrat respondents 66 percent believe doxing SCOTUS justices was wrong ( Trafalgar).

Leader McConnell Excoriates the Left’s Intimidation Tactics
Today Senate Democrats will try passing an unrestricted nine-month abortion-on-demand bill. They lack the necessary votes to pursue the bill and have refused to revise the bill based on recommendations from pro-choice republicans. Nate Hochman: Yesterday, Georgetown Law’s @joshchafetz endorsed the use of “aggressive tactics” against judges who may vote to overturn Roe. Radio silence from the Georgetown administration ( Twitter). Townhall: On the floor of the upper chamber, GOP leader Mitch McConnell upbraided Schumer over his ugly intimidation tactics against Supreme Court justices, which were so brazen that they earned a rare public condemnation from the Chief Justice, and laid out the truth on abortion ‘extremism’ in America today ( Townhall). Guy Benson: Good McConnell speech ( Twitter).

Jen Psaki on Protestors: “We certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges’ homes”
From the story: White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday refused to condemn the mob protests that have converged outside the six conservative Supreme Court justices’ homes in the last week in response to the leak of a draft opinion that would reverse Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark ruling that legalized abortion on the national level ( National Review). Townhall: Psaki on “protests that have been peaceful to date.” “We certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges’ homes” ( Twitter). Eugene Volokh cites Cox v. Louisiana (1965). The notion of a fair trial excludes: influence or domination by either a hostile or friendly mob. There is no room at any stage of judicial proceedings for such intervention; mob law is the very antithesis of due process ( Reason).

President Biden On Inflation: “I think our policies help, not hurt”
Spencer Brown: President Joe Biden’s approval rating is deeper underwater than Ted Kennedy’s car on Chappaquiddick, the midterms are less than six months away, baby formula is running out across the country, and fuel prices just notched a new all-time high for both diesel and unleaded. Scrambling to stem the hemorrhaging for his administration and party, Biden spoke Tuesday afternoon in remarks that were intended to head off Wednesday’s release of the latest consumer inflation data that’s remained at four-decade highs in recent months as a result of Biden’s economic policies ( Townhall). Daily Wire: President Joe Biden stumbled through his comments on Tuesday morning, referring to record-setting inflation as “strength” ( Daily Wire). Greg Price: Biden: “The number one threat is the strength, and that strength that we’ve built is inflation” ( Twitter). Townhall: BIDEN: “I think our policies help, not hurt” ( Twitter).

Gas Prices Continue to Rise
From the story: U.S. gas prices hit an all-time record Tuesday, and experts don’t expect the pain at the pump to ease any time soon. The average price for regular gas in the U.S. was $4.37 per gallon on Tuesday, according to AAA. Diesel prices also hit a record $5.55 per gallon ( USA Today). Pete Muntean: NEW RECORD high gas prices. AAA reports US average is now $4.37 per gallon, dwarfing previous record set March 11 ( Twitter). RNC Research: CNN: “ECONOMIC ANXIETY.” “Gas prices hitting a new nominal record…this comes as prices for everything from groceries to plane tickets continue to rise” ( Twitter). RedState: In some places, like California, that average would look like Nirvana if they got to see those prices again. The state average there is approaching $6.00. It’s up $1.41 since last year and 17 cents since last week. This, despite Joe Biden’s claims that he’s doing something about it by depleting our emergency supply. Biden announced in March that he would be releasing 180 million barrels — one million barrels a day for six months — the largest release since the reserve was created back in 1974. But we see how unsuccessful that has been because it’s not addressing the problem. It’s just emptying our savings account so if we truly hit an emergency, we’ll be up a creek without a paddle ( RedState).

Townhall: PSAKI: “There is a dire need for money to continue to fund our needs on COVID” ( Twitter). Dr. Marty Makary: Today, Biden/Jha demanding $22.5B in additional Covid funding. A lot will go to: Another vax that has not been disclosed, studied or FDA authorized. The testing-industrial complex to over-test immune students. Off-label use of Paxlovid in asymp, low-risk ppl who don’t need it ( Twitter). According to the CDC, the average number of deaths per day is at 323 ( CDC).

As Summer Approaches, Prospect of Blackouts Could Be on the Way
All part of the move to clean energy. From the story: While some major cities are already seeing their lights go off due to electricity use overload, grid operators and energy advocates gave a warning to states closing their coal-fired power plants even quicker than they can build new ones. “Any plans to remove nuclear plants or coal power plants or natural gas plants that are slated to be closed, that has to be completely suspended,” Power the Future executive director Daniel Turner told FOX Business’ Jeff Flock Tuesday. Eighty coal-fired power plants are slated to close across 14 states in the next six years, Flock mentioned in his report, which poses a threat as some blackouts have already begun and coal and nuclear power still source 41% of the country’s electricity, according to the Energy Information Administration ( Fox Business). Scott Wilk: Unprepared – again. The state will likely face an energy shortfall equal to what’s needed to power 1.3M homes. CA families & our most vulnerable citizens who rely on medical devices don’t deserve another summer living in fear of rolling blackouts ( Twitter).

AG Garland Rules Judges Must Take Criminal Asylum Seekers’ Mental Health Into Account
From the story: Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday said that immigration judges can now consider the mental health status of an illegal immigrant convicted of an aggravated felony when considering their asylum claim or whether to withhold their deportation — overruling a prior decision by a top immigration appeals board. The Immigration and Nationality Act makes illegal immigrants ineligible for both asylum and withholding of removal — where illegal immigrants are not returned because they have a fear of persecution if returned to their country of origin — if they have been convicted of a “particularly serious crime” that constitutes a danger to the community ( Fox News).
