We are hitting the streets of Melbourne and making some noise! No images? Click here Hi supporter, Have you heard? From 11am next Thursday, May 19—less than 48 hours before election day—we’re taking to the streets of Melbourne. We'll meet up with you out the front of NDIA Melbourne HQ to make a heap of noise and hear from some fantastic speakers. Then together we will all march down to the Administrative Appeal Tribunal (AAT). It’ll take us about ten minutes to march from the NDIA to the AAT - a journey that too often takes more than 10 MONTHS in reality. We want this rally to show our community can't be ignored. People with disability, families, advocates and allies are coming from far and wide. Can you please let us know if you'll come too? When & where?May 19 We’ve heard hundreds, or maybe thousands of stories now, about people with disability, families and advocates being dragged forced into the AAT, desperately trying to get back essential supports that have been cut from their NDIS plans without explanation. People in need of support going up against a room full of lawyers from some of the country’s biggest law firms. It simply can’t continue. Together, we’ve helped make defending our NDIS a federal election issue, but we can’t stop there. Let’s continue to make our calls heard right up until election day (and beyond)! We know Victoria is a big state and not everyone will be able to make it in person, so we'll also be live-streaming the event on our Facebook page and YouTube channel (with captions). Subscribe to our videos there to get notified, or stay tuned here for another email with more details before the big day. Thank you for all you do. Jean and the Every Australian Counts team PS: Want to help more people find out about this event? Feel free to use the images from the top and bottom of this email, or find better versions from our website that you can share.
