Confronting U.S. Nonpoint Source Pollution

Nonpoint source pollution is the largest unaddressed source of water pollution in the country, and we cannot have drinkable, fishable, swimmable water while it runs rampant. It’s time for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to tackle this threat to clean water and protect the wellbeing of our communities.

Atchafalaya Basinkeeper

Louisiana's Atchafalaya Basin contains the biggest wetland swamp and largest continuous wetland forest in the United States. This "river of trees" serves a key ecological function for wildlife and provides invaluable flood protection, but it is increasingly under threat.
 
Maule Itata Coastkeeper

Maule Itata Coastkeeper has been protecting the South-Central coast of Chile since 2008. The region's natural beauty makes it a a large tourism draw, but encroaching industries and real estate developers have threatened the health of the ecosystem.
 

Who is Waterkeeper?

Greg Remaud has been with NY/NJ Baykeeper for over 25 years, and his love of local water goes back to childhood when his father worked in the engine room on the Staten Island ferry. These are home waters to Greg, but his motivations go way beyond nostalgia.
