Eddie here. Do you know about call time, John?
It’s where candidates call people to ask them to chip into their campaigns. Everyone does it. And I absolutely hate it.
Asking people for money sucks. I’d much rather be connecting with voters, hearing their stories, and learning about the issues that impact their lives.
But campaigns are EXPENSIVE, and I’m running against a well-funded far-right Republican!
If we want to beat them (and we can!), we must have the resources to go all the way. And until we reform our broken campaign finance laws that force middle-class candidates (like me!!!) to spend a ton of time fundraising, call time is the name of the game.
But — if we could raise an extra $1000 each week — I could spend a few less hours on the phone and more time talking to voters.
So, John, I have a favor to ask (just don’t tell Derek): can you help me spend more time talking to voters and less time calling donors by chipping in $5 to my grassroots-powered campaign?
Thanks for helping me spend more time talking to voters, John. I REALLY appreciate it!
