Issue 19

My fellow Republicans,

The May 7 election has come to a close. I want to thank all the volunteers that gave their time and effort to help educate the voters about the State Constitutional Amendments, City and School Bonds, school board races and municipal races on the ballot. I have a special thank you to Amy Hedtke and the Texans for Freedom PAC for their knowledge, guidance and work on the bond issues. Our hard work opposing the tax-raising bonds fell short; however, we showed vast improvements over previous bonds with over 35% against four of the six bonds. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the citizens of San Antonio when our taxes go up in order to pay for the billions of dollars of additional debt the city leaders are putting on our shoulders.

We saw interesting events this week in Washington D.C. with the Democrat's leak of the Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade draft. It is another example of how dysfunctional and desperate the Democrat Party is. I trust the Justices will do the right thing and not bow to this despicable intimidation effort.

Anyone needing to protest their Bexar County property appraisal has until Monday, May 16 to appeal. Fill out the form on the back of the appraisal notice or file it online.
