It didn’t take too long for Ken Calvert to throw up a TV ad after we went on the airwaves. Not only is he now outspending us, he’s straight up misleading voters. Let’s take a look where he’s stretching the truth to his constituents:
- Claim: “Most politicians sit idle, but not Ken Calvert.”
Truth: This one is comical. Even when Calvert had Donald Trump in the White House and Republican control in the House, Calvert was unable to pass a single bill during the 116th Congress.
- Claim: “As a former small business owner, Ken Calvert is fighting for us."
Truth: Calvert claims he understands the difficulties small business owners face, but when was the last time he had to fight to keep the lights on? After nearly 30 years in Washington, it’s safe to say he’s a career politician.
- Claim: "Ken Calvert voted to reduce taxes on the middle class."
Truth: When it came to reducing taxes and helping the middle class, he voted against the American Rescue Plan. Now, his party is literally threatening to raise taxes on the poor if they retake Congress.
For too long, Ken Calvert has flown under the radar without bringing any meaningful change to the district. Instead, he’s made a career off emboldening the far-right and putting their agenda ahead of the people.
