Dear MoveOn member,

Republican lawmakers have taken the U.S. Supreme Court's draft decision
overturning Roe v. Wade as license to introduce some of the most heinous
bills our nation has seen in recent history.

Mitch McConnell is floating the possibility of a nationwide ban on
abortion if Republicans take control of Congress this fall.^1

Louisiana Republicans have introduced a bill to classify all abortions in
the state as homicide and to allow prosecutors to criminally charge
abortion patients.^2

And Mississippi's governor is considering outlawing contraception.^3

That's why MoveOn is joining forces with Planned Parenthood, Women's
March, UltraViolet, and reproductive justice leaders across the country to
host the Bans Off Our Bodies National Day of Action this Saturday, May 14.
From coast to coast, millions of people will take to the streets to demand
that abortion access be protected and defended.

[ [link removed] ]But pulling off hundreds of protests across the country takes financial
resources, and MoveOn's funding comes from members like you. Will you rush
a $3 donation right now to help power the Bans Off Our
Bodies National Day of Action on May 14?

John, America is about to turn back the clock 50 years to a
time when women were not free and trans and nonbinary people were not
visible in our society.

While the wealthy will have the option to travel to states or countries
where abortion is legal, poor and low-income people—including survivors of
sexual assault—will be forced to carry to term. And the right wing is
already going further with their forced-birth agenda, taking aim at
contraception, while showing that they plan to go after LGBTQ+ equality
next.

For decades, they've worked tirelessly to spread dangerous lies about
abortion, pass laws that chipped away at abortion access, shame and
stigmatize pregnant people, and pack all levels of our courts with
far-right judges who they knew would set the stage for this final blow.

But let's be very clear: Our fight is FAR from over. In fact, it's just
getting started.

That's why, on Saturday, May 14, MoveOn, Planned Parenthood, Women's
March, UltraViolet, and reproductive justice leaders across the country
will be leading marches during our Bans Off Our Bodies National Day of
Action.

But we need your help to pull it off.

[ [link removed] ]Please rush a $3 donation today to help power the Bans
Off Our Bodies National Day of Action. Your contribution will be used to
print rally signs, rent stages and AV equipment, and hire security
personnel for hundreds of marches across the country.

This is a life-or-death fight. Full stop. Let's get to work.

Thanks for all you do.

–Emma, Vickie, Allison, Evelyn, and the rest of the team

Want to support our work? Right-wing groups are spending tens of millions
of dollars on TV ads to smear critical progressive legislation. Meanwhile,
donations to progressive groups like MoveOn are plummeting now that a
Democrat is in the White House, meaning we don’t have the resources to
fight back. That's a huge problem, and that's why we urgently need your
support.

Will you chip in to fight right-wing lies and pass urgent legislation to
confront the multiple crises our country faces?
