John,
I grew up in a union household, the proud daughter of a union pipefitter-welder. In fact, it was my dad's sweatshirt he wore on the job – peppered with burn holes – that I brought with me to Congress. I didn’t bring it with me because I needed a reminder of who I was there to fight for, but because I knew Washington did.
My parents couldn't give me debt-free college or a trust fund, but they gave me something better: they instilled in me the belief that when there's work to be done or a problem to solve, you say "yes." I experienced firsthand how unions are the backbone of working families and the future of America. Now, despite GOP attacks, workers all across the country are organizing like never before:
➡️ Amazon just won its first union.
➡️ Starbucks now has its first union.
➡️ Apple stores are getting closer and closer toward unionization.
Americans are fighting for unions because they know that's the best way to ensure a living wage and good quality of life. It's time to elect leaders who know that, too – instead of folks like Sen. Grassley, who have voted against unions and working families for decades.
If you agree, will you pitch in $5 – or whatever you can – right now to help me flip this seat blue and fight for unions in the Senate?

This is personal to me, John. You see, thanks to my dad's union job, I had a good quality of life growing up. We got affordable, high-quality health care and a living wage through my dad's union. It was tough work, but the union fought for the safe working conditions that made sure my dad always came home to my mom and me.
During my time in the Iowa Statehouse and in Congress, I always fought for our unions because I know firsthand that strong unions are good for working families.
That should be clear as day to anyone, but people like Sen. Grassley either don't get it or just don't care. He's voted against unions and working families time and time again – and he's even blocked legislation that would provide critical protections for our unions.
It's no wonder that Iowans are turning against Sen. Grassley like never before: only 27% of likely voters said they want to send him back to Washington! We can win here in Iowa, but only if people like you chip in. So please, before my next midnight deadline tonight, can you rush $5 to help defeat Sen. Grassley and send the daughter of a union pipefitter-welder to the Senate? Every donation gets us closer to expanding our Senate majority and winning real victories for unions!

Thank you for standing with me.
– Abby
