Dear John, The most comprehensive legislation to address marijuana prohibition, the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act would remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act, provide for the expungement of criminal records, and reduce collateral consequences for those convicted of marijuana crimes. The MORE Act is scheduled for markup at 10:00 a.m, Wednesday, November 20th. At this time, House Judiciary Committee members will be able to introduce amendments to the Act. The MORE Act will likely advance onto the floor for vote. I will be representing LEAP on the ground advocating for this historic bill, as I have been asked to speak at Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler's press conference highlighting the MORE Act today (Tuesday, November 19th) at 11:00 a.m. EST. Your representatives need to know that this matters to you. We are asking you to again stand with LEAP and our criminal justice and drug policy reform partners: tell your Members of Congress to support the MORE Act! In Solidarity, Major Neill Franklin (Ret.)
